“The story is a portrait of submission and authority within the kingdom of God.”

All leaders face issues with authority. What do you do if a leader doesn’t treat you well? What do you do if you disagree with authority? What do you do when someone rejects or rebels against your authority? These questions considered in this portrait of King David, King Saul, and King Absalom.

I believe this book is important for group leaders because all of us deal with issues of authority and submission. You won’t have a fruitful ministry unless you resolve your own inner motives. Resolving your inner motives will keep you from errors that many leaders unfortunately make. Embracing brokenness as a stepping stone in spiritual maturity will make you a more passionate follower of Christ.
