Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms (1 Peter 4:10 NIV).
Everyone has a gift. Followers of Jesus are expected to use their gift(s) to serve one another. When they do, two things happen; first, they mature spiritually; and two, the church grows. A group who uses their gifts faithfully are far more fruitful and joyful then groups who do not.
Here is a simple plan for helping your group understand their gifts and increase their use.
- Schedule a discussion on spiritual gifts.
- Ask group members to take a spiritual gift inventory.
- Download discussion questions.
- Schedule a progress check. “Sam, how are you using your teaching gift these days?”
Hold one another accountable for the use of their gifts. God gave us gifts not to hide them, not to please ourselves, but to serve and build-up one another.
