Halloween is a great holiday to meet your neighbors. It’s also a fun holiday for your group to spend time together—time with a purpose.

Halloween Ideas

I like to roll my BBQ to the front yard and cook corn on the cob for the adults.  I buy a bunch of corn, cut them in half, roll in tin foil, season, and cook for 7-8 minutes. The adults love to get something hot and delicious while they are walking their kids around the block.

Another group leader shared with me that he likes to have a fire pit in the front yard for a “Build Your Own Smores” bar for the kids. Each of these ideas affords a great opportunity to share an invite to church.

  1. We like to host a parties in the front yard with games for kids and grilled hot dogs available, for those who didn’t get a chance to eat dinner. We’ve even had a clown for the night to perform magic tricks for the kids! We always enjoy getting to meet our neighbors and having a chance to talk with parents!
