Jerry & Jayne Burgess led their group to do a Christmas outreach. They demonstrate that groups can take initiative to Serve Together by finding outreach opportunities that match their interests and passions.
“Our group decided on a project that supports Soldiers Angels here in SA. We bought 55 Christmas stockings and filled them with prepackage little stuff like pudding, crackers, hard candy, shampoo, toothbrush, tea, oatmeal, hot chocolate, etc. We also included a hand signed Christmas card in each stocking. Many of the Christmas cards were made by the children and adults and some were pretty special and elaborate cards (thanks to Elvis and Tammy Rogers and their kids). We also included a card that shows the salvation plan. We will deliver the stockings to Soldiers Angels and they will pass them to veterans and the homeless.”
